Things I Like
Last night, while having an oddly tough time falling asleep at 11pm, I started thinking about all the things that make me happy. Interestingly enough, many of them had nothing to do with money, higher education, or traditional status symbols.
During tough times or not, it is always helpful to remember what is important and truly pleasing to consistently keep things in perspective. For my own sake, and maybe even yours, here is my list of Things I Like:
smiles hugs cooking baking from scratch (Betty Crocker and Martha Stewart are my dames) taking pictures writing reading knitting sewing sunrises being "cozy" hot chocolate shimmering lakes flowing streams tall trees colors: butter yellow, mustard yellow, sky blue, grass green, lettuce green, blush pink, spring peach, lilac, aged white, rustic gray long walks with my mom yoga exercising at home flowers fresh salad my cat, Monster deer owls dolphins whales seeing my name printed in magazines helping others hot tea archery ceramics watching snow fall wood floors unique tattoos Europe! aromatherapy painting foreign languages vintage/antique anything laughter flea markets state fairs fresh herbs fluffy clouds wood grain clotheslines barns bicycle rides round tables denim cotton (organic, of course) silk
